Beef Brisket Is Not Just For Barbecue

When you're a foodie, and all of your pretentious foodie friends who never travel above 95th street urge you to go to a BBQ joint on 131st in Harlem, you know you need to listen. I'd been hearing about Dinosaur Bar-B-Que for years, and finally made it there last weekend.

Ground pork is often less expensive than ground beef with a similar fat content. The two types of meat can be used interchangeably in most recipes. The Pork was, without doubt, the standout. Smoky and greaseless, the taste lingered for the rest of the night (in a good way). The ribs were also excellent -- meaty and tender. The brisket, while well prepared, was tougher than expected, and not as flavorful as its plate-neighbors. I was also disappointed by the beans, which had a very strange after taste and a runny consistency. The mac n' cheese was creamy and delicious.

People start eating Tteokguk made from white rice cake (Tteok) to symbolize the day's pure and solemn nature. Why is rice cake round?
